Digital Strategy

Equitable access
We recognise the importance of digital technology in supporting learning and independence as well as for preparation for life beyond school. For these reasons our approach focuses on ensuring equitable access to technology and helping students develop the confidence and skills to use it effectively.

Every student has access to a laptop while at the college, enabling them to engage fully in lessons and access digital resources for research, coursework and tutor time activities. We also operate a laptop loan scheme to support students in completing homework and accessing learning outside of school.

Safe access
Students develop digital literacy skills across the curriculum, including research, communication and independent study.
Online safety education is integrated into the curriculum, tutor programme and our safeguarding processes.
Digital systems at the college are supported by appropriate filtering and monitoring arrangements, with our staff receiving regular training to ensure technology is used safely and effectively to support learning.
Further information can be found in our Online Safety and Safeguarding sections.
