Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

Our Wellbeing Hub is a registered Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Centre, enabling students to participate in this prestigious programme and develop a wide range of essential skills required for success in education, work, and everyday life in modern Britain.
Through participation in volunteering, physical activities, skill-building, and expeditions, students strengthen key abilities such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, leadership, and resilience.

Volunteering
Through volunteering, our learners build communication skills, teamwork, responsibility, and empathy while making a positive contribution to their community. This section of the Award encourages commitment, reliability, and confidence, allowing students to gain real-life experience, develop independence, and understand the value of helping others.
Physical Activity
By taking part in regular physical activities, learners improve their fitness, motivation, perseverance, and self-discipline. This section of the Award also helps students build confidence, resilience, and goal-setting skills, encouraging them to challenge themselves, work consistently, and recognise the importance of physical wellbeing.
Skill-building
Through learning new skills or improving existing ones, learners build confidence, patience, problem-solving, and independence. This section encourages creativity, commitment, and self-motivation, allowing students to explore their interests, set personal goals, and develop valuable transferable skills that can be used in education, work, and modern British life.
Expeditions
Expeditions encourage perseverance, self-confidence, and adaptability, helping students step out of their comfort zones while experiencing the rewards of achieving shared goals in a supportive and challenging setting.
During these adventurous trips, learners navigate new environments, plan routes, and work together to overcome challenges, building problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills along the way.
