Tutor Time Challenges
Our twelve tutor groups take part in weekly challenges, encouraging teamwork, healthy competition, and engagement across the school community. Points are collected throughout the week, and a league table is shared in assemblies, celebrating effort, achievement, and positive behaviour.
Tutor time also plays a key role in students’ personal development.
At the end of each half term, the tutor group with the highest number of points is rewarded with achievement badges and an engraved shield, which is proudly displayed in their tutor room for the following term.

Fake News Challenge 2026
Students from across the school take part in the Fake Newa Challenge - to write the most convincing — and creative — fake news article. The event aimed to develop students’ writing skills while also encouraging them to think critically about how news is constructed and how easily misinformation can spread.

Many tutor time activities are designed to develop oracy skills, build confidence, and encourage thoughtful discussion. These sessions support the Thought of the Week which is introduced in assemblies each Monday. Thought of the Week themes are PSHE-related and are carefully planned to help students reflect, develop life skills, and support their wellbeing.
