Tutor Time Challenges

Our twelve tutor groups take part in weekly challenges, encouraging teamwork, healthy competition, and engagement across the school community. Points are collected throughout the week, and a league table is shared in assemblies, celebrating effort, achievement, and positive behaviour.
Tutor time also plays a key role in students’ personal development.
At the end of each half term, the tutor group with the highest number of points is rewarded with achievement badges and an engraved shield, which is proudly displayed in their tutor room for the following term.

Latest Challenges

KS3 students recently had a go at origami, exploring the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. Through careful instructions and creative thinking, they transformed simple sheets of paper into a variety of shapes and designs. The activity helped develop patience, concentration, and problem-solving skills while giving students the opportunity to express their creativity in a fun and engaging way.

Many tutor time activities are designed to develop oracy skills, build confidence, and encourage thoughtful discussion. These sessions support the Thought of the Week which is introduced in assemblies each Monday. Thought of the Week themes are PSHE-related and are carefully planned to help students reflect, develop life skills, and support their wellbeing.
