ASDAN Courses

ASDAN courses are designed to develop skills for learning, work and life, with practical and accessible pedagogy. They help young learners discover their passion and purpose as they move forward into further education, work or training. Some of the ways these courses improve wellbeing of our students include:

  • Pride in achievement and commitment to learning
  • Developing student self-confidence, self-awareness and understanding of how to be a successful learner
  • Gaining employability skills so that learners are well prepared for the next stage of their education, employment, self-employment or training
  • Understanding how to keep themselves safe from risks such as abuse, sexual exploitation and extremism, including when using the internet and social media
  • Knowledge of how to keep themselves healthy, both emotionally and physically, including through exercising and healthy eating
  • Personal development, so that learners are well prepared to respect others and contribute to wider society

Youth First Aid

In addition to ASDAN short courses, the Wellbeing Hub delivers accredited Youth First Aid training, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the safe use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). This training equips students with essential, life-saving skills, increasing their confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations and promoting a strong sense of responsibility and community awareness.

To date, 39 Year 10 and Year 11 students have successfully achieved the Youth First Aid Award, demonstrating both practical competence and a commitment to supporting the wellbeing and safety of others. These qualifications provide valuable real-world skills that benefit students within school, at home, and in the wider community.
