RESET Programme
The RESET programme is used as a targeted intervention to support pupils experiencing school avoidance or anxiety-related non-attendance. It provides a structured, supportive pathway to re-engage pupils with education by addressing emotional, behavioural, and environmental barriers to attendance. The programme recognises that school avoidance is often rooted in anxiety, unmet needs, or negative prior experiences and therefore requires a graduated, child-centred response.
Through RESET, pupils are supported to regulate emotions, rebuild confidence, and re-establish routines in a safe and predictable way. Individualised reintegration plans are developed in collaboration with pupils, parents, and relevant professionals, ensuring that expectations are clear and manageable. This may include flexible timetables, supported transitions, or phased returns, enabling pupils to gradually increase attendance and engagement at a pace appropriate to their needs.
The programme contributes to improved attendance and wellbeing by promoting positive relationships and consistent adult support. Pupils are encouraged to reflect on anxieties and develop coping strategies that support emotional resilience and readiness to learn. RESET sessions provide a safe space for pupils to express concerns, helping staff identify underlying issues and implement appropriate pastoral or external support where necessary.
RESET supports the school’s statutory responsibilities in relation to attendance, safeguarding, and inclusion. Staff delivering the programme are trained to identify safeguarding concerns and escalate appropriately. By reducing barriers to attendance and preventing prolonged absence, the RESET programme supports pupils’ long-term educational outcomes and aligns with the school’s commitment to ensuring all pupils feel safe, supported, and able to access learning.
RESET students delve into the world of creative writing, focusing on developing their imagination, voice, and style. Through engaging prompts and structured exercises students learn to craft compelling characters, vivid settings, and dynamic plots.

Educational Trips
In July 2025, the RESET students embarked on an unforgettable educational journey to Paris, a city rich in history, culture, and inspiration. From the moment they arrived, the excitement was very clear to see, as they explored iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, and Notre-Dame Cathedral, each site offering a deeper connection to art, architecture, and French heritage. Students got the chance to cruise down the Seine, taking in the views from different perspective. Students engaged in thoughtful discussions about history and modern society, blending classroom knowledge with real-world experiences. They sampled authentic French cuisine, practiced basic language skills with locals, and immersed themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of cafés, markets, and bustling streets. The trip also fostered teamwork and independence, as students navigated public transportation, collaborated on group activities, and reflected on their personal growth. By the end of the visit, Paris had become more than just a destination; it was a living classroom that broadened their perspectives, strengthened friendships, and created lasting memories that would influence their academic and personal journeys for years to come.
The RESET rewards trip to the go-karting track was an exciting and well-deserved break for students, celebrating everyone’s hard work and achievements. The day was filled with friendly competition, laughter, and plenty of adrenaline as we raced around the track and cheered each other on. It was a great opportunity to unwind, bond outside of school, and strengthen team spirit, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
