Corrymeela Ireland Trip - July 2024
Twenty-two students were chosen to be taken to Corrymeela in Northern Ireland, to the Peace and Reconciliation Centre, Near Bally Castle for three days. It was an amazing adventure, and we found ourselves really lucky to be welcomed back here. We set off at 5:45am from AMC. Here are is the itinerary for the trip
Day 1:
Arrival and settle in.
Coach train to Giants Causeway
A scary cross on the National Trust Carrick A Rede rope bridge in Bally Castle
Day 2:
Ferry over to Rathlin Island
Went up the Puffin bus, and saw a huge amount of puffins (which are usually quite rare)
Viewed the Rathlin West Lighthouse; an upside down lighthouse
Arrived back at the accommodation and watched England beat Holland in Euros
Day 3:
On the last day, we travelled to Belfast
We took part in a guided tour that went around all the historical murals of Ireland
Then went around the Titanic museum
Finally, back to the airport.
Tyler in Year 10 stated “Ireland was an incredible experience. I have never been around so much nature. It was interesting to see the difference between the greenery and the city of Belfast”
